Why John Wayne in the same belt loop in all his movies?

Why John Wayne (actor of the West), where he a belt buckle? I'm curious … apparently has something to do with a river?

Howard Hawks had a lot of belt buckles made by the main city the river in his classic "red" with "D" mark of the film, the initials of the person who gave it, and in (1946). Hawks and Wayne were good friends, and sometimes they change buckles, led the Hawks with JW "Wayne and the loop bearing the" HWH "loop. Wayne led the loop in several of his films for sentimental reasons, and it has been regularly used off-screen.
